sequa is a development organisation operating worldwide. The company promotes the development of the private sector and its business membership organisations as well as qualification of skilled employees and managers. sequa’s programmes and projects are both publicly and privately funded and are oriented at the principles of a social market economy. sequa is a non-profit company whose shareholders are Germany‘s top business membership organisations (DIHK, ZDH, BDA, BDI) and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (giz) GmbH.
sequa with its registered head office in Bonn has been founded in 1991, employs some 45 staff, reported a turnover of m 20 EUR in 2012 and is exclusively project-financed.
Within all programmes and projects the company closely cooperates with its shareholders and its member organisations, thus having direct access to the sound knowledge of experts of German chambers and business associations, their vocational education and training institutions and private companies.
sequa has a track-record of 750 successful projects in more than 100 countries in its business segments Business Membership Organisations (BMO), Private Sector Development (PSD), Vocational Education and Training (VET) as well as Social Dialogue (SD).
Programme administration, project management, and consulting are the company’s fields of activity. In its role as programme administrator the company coordinates and designs the execution of the programme and reports to the donor that is providing the funds. In the field of project management sequa offers professional project performance through all stages of a project life cycle. Furthermore, sequa’s own and subcontracted experts can provide training and consulting services in each business segment.
Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the Federal German Foreign Office (Auswärtiges Amt), the European Commission, and Germany’s GIZ are sequa’s most important clients.
