In the first quarter 2013, the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) grew by only 0.1% after seasonal and calendar adjustment. According to the Federal Statistical Office, this small growth is due to the extremely cold weather experienced during the winter months in 2012. Especially in the last quarter of 2012 the GDP fell by -0.7%.
